Charlie Jack Fuertsch is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist based out of Boston. Although firmly rooted in bluegrass and classic country music, Charlie’s music combines his interest in all facets of American roots music, and includes elements of jazz, blues, classic rock, honky tonk and old time.

Charlie grew up in the mountains of northern Utah playing electric rock guitar and listening to the music of The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead. While still in high school, after being exposed to the music of Bluegrass guitar master Tony Rice, he was inspired to switch to the acoustic guitar and study Bluegrass music. From 2012-2014, Charlie studied flatpick guitar and mandolin with Jake Workman (currently the guitarist for Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder).

In 2014 Charlie moved to New York City to study music and American history at Columbia University. While in New York he studied with guitarist and vocalist Michael Daves.

He currently lives in Boston where he studies guitar performance at Berklee College of Music. In addition to performing solo and leading his own country band, he also performs in the Sugar Pine Sweethearts, a Boston based Bluegrass band as well as in a duo with mandolinist Corban Welter.
